Over the past three years, fans have watched as Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani went from fellow coaches on The Voice to a couple who is in love and getting stronger every day. When they met, both Shelton and Stefani were fresh off divorces – from Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale, respectively – but they have moved on together, and Shelton talks about his loving girlfriend every chance he gets.
On a recent episode of The Voice, Shelton was busy rehearsing with his contestants and special guest Mariah Carey, but he also took the opportunity to talk about Stefani and the life they share together away from the spotlight of Hollywood.
When Shelton found out that his contestant, Kameron Marlowe, wanted to sing the Bob Marley classic I Shot the Sheriff, he immediately turned to Carey and told her how the song reminds him of Stefani. At first, Shelton’s admission was a bit confusing, but he quickly explained.
“This is my lake song. Me and Gwen go out on the lake in the pontoon and pretend we’re actually out on the ocean,” revealed Shelton.
Just the mention of the song made Shelton think of Stefani, and that made it clear to anyone who had doubts that he is head over heels for the Used To Love you singer. But, he doesn’t just gush about Stefani on his television show. Shelton also shows affection on social media, and when she announced the release of her deluxe Christmas album, he couldn’t help but brag.
“Ladies and Gentlemen… THIS is how you make awesome awesomer… The best bestester… Perfection more perfectiony!!” Shelton wrote on Twitter.
Even though they are not ready to get married, insiders say that the couple has never been more in love, and they “recommitted” their love to each other before their third anniversary. Sources say that it was a “sweet, nice conversation” that ended with Stefani in tears while they both proclaimed their love and devotion to each other.
They are also making plans for the future, and that includes holiday plans, traveling, and romantic things they enjoy doing with each other.
Stefani and Shelton were not looking for love when they first met. But, they ended up finding it anyway.
As for Shelton’s ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, she appears to be struggling post-divorce. She has had two failed relationships, one with singer Anderson East and another with Turnpike Troubadours frontman Evan Felker. And, she has had shared her heartbreak through her music.
Her most recent song with Pistol Annies, Got My Name Changed Back, is the divorce anthem of the year. So, it looks like three years later, she is continuing to work through the pain of her split with her music.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have not publicly commented on any of Miranda Lambert’s antics in years.
