While the actress was shooting her upcoming movie in Dublin, she, unfortunately, suffered an injury that led to the entire production being put on hold until her full recovery! Today, production company Paramount Pictures made sure to release an official statement, telling everyone that ‘filming’s been temporarily suspended on The Rhythm Section after Blake Lively sustained an injury to her hand while shooting.’
The studio is hopeful that they will be able to resume filming as soon as possible.
As fans of Lively may be aware, the star was recently spotted on set looking nothing like herself.
The actress put a lot into making her character as real and raw as possible, and she was not afraid to look less glamorous for the sake of it.
The Rhythm Section is telling the story of Stephanie Patrick, played by Blake Lively, who’s planning to take revenge against some people who caused a plane, which her family was on, to crash.
The horrible accident kills them, and the character is determined to uncover the mystery of their passing while also struggling with life as a sex worker.
We are yet to know for sure if the halting of the shooting will also affect the release date of the film, which is reportedly set to come out in early 2018.
Lively opened up about her role in the movie, discussing the double role Hollywood actresses have to almost always face.
‘You always see that thing in movies where if a woman’s a prostitute or a sex worker, you always think, ‘I do not want the guys to be grossed out by her.’ We have to still make her kind of sexy … tragically sexy, but you know, music video.’
We hope she gets well soon!
