‘Black Panther’ Nominated For Three Golden Globes — Will It Be An Oscar Contender?

Black Panther has been nominated for three Golden Globes and it may very well be an Oscar contender. The 18th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Panther revolutionized the way African Americans experience superheroes in the movies. There is no question that black actors have fought their way through numerous stereotypes and Black Panther was a groundbreaking film that brought black actors and their characters to the forefront.
Not only was it a gamble for Marvel and Disney to step into unchartered territory and make Black Panther, but it was a gamble that paid off. Despite unknowing what type of response the movie would have with audiences, Black Panther grossed 1.4 billion worldwide.
The movie’s success proved once and for all that movies that catapult black characters into the main spotlight will fill theaters, break records, and now we know for sure, be nominated for awards.
The Golden Globes aren’t the first awards Black Panther has been nominated for. The movie has already been nominated for over 50 awards and the award season is just beginning.
Black Panther has been nominated for the following Golden Globes: Best Motion Picture — Drama, Best Original Score — Ludwig Goransson, and Best Original Song-Motion Picture — Music and lyrics by Kendrick Lamar, Anthony Tiffith, Mark Spears, Solana Rowe, and Al Shuckburgh.

Black Panther had a surprising impact on young, black girls. As the movie has several powerful, characters that excel in science and demonstrated the value of knowledge and learning, the movie has inspired more black girls to study math and science.
This act of life imitating art has resulted in Lupita Nyongo, Danai Gurira, and Chadwick Boseman presenting a young student, Kalis Coleman, a scholarship for $250,o00.
Though fans can’t wait to see the Black Panther sequel, they will first see Chadwick Boseman recreate the character in the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame. Avengers: Endgame has finished filming and is set for a release date of April 26, 2019, in the U.S.
On October 11, 2018, Black Panther 2 was announced and little is known about the upcoming film. Ryan Coogler is set to return as director as well as the main cast. The events of Avengers: Infinity War must play out first, so it’s likely that the plot won’t be released until after Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. Both are set for a March and April 2019 release.
