Just a couple of days after doctors declared Lorena “Patty” Hernandez incapacitated, her friends and family decided it would be best to pull the plug, as the woman remained on life support.
The Blast reports that her family chose to release a statement officially revealing the news of her passing.
Moreover, the family set up a GoFundMe page on Monday. And while her death is tragic, one fan on social media wrote, “why would Chyna’s assistant need a GoFundMe page. Doesn’t Chyna and her crew already have enough money?”
Another person added, “it seems awfully opportunistic to me.” Her GoFundMe page includes information on what caused her untimely demise, explaining a stroke as the primary reason.
Following the stroke – which left her partially blind – tests diagnosed her with “Arteriovenous Malformation,” which supposedly was there at birth, but the stroke increased its severity.
A surgery was not possible for Patty because the location of the ailment was in a place not accessible through surgery, and the only option to treat her was radiation therapy, a process typically taking two years.
Additionally, Hernandez was pregnant and she chose not to proceed with the pregnancy because of her illness. The official report claims her family set up the GoFundMe page because of the need to pay for her expenses, which have passed on to her surviving children.
Chyna’s ex-boyfriend, Tyga, donated $5000 and he was the first person to do so. Since then, $34,000 has been raised. Unfortunately, the $34,000 raised isn’t nearly enough as the costs of all of her treatment up until her death will probably be $100,000+.
