Billy Bush's Wife Sydney Davis Files For Divorce
Billy Bush and Sydney Davis are officially split up. Davis filed for divorce in the Los Angeles County Superior Court after twenty years of marriage on the 13th of July, Friday.
TMZ reports that Davis filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences. Davis asked the court for joint legal and primary physical custody of their two daughters, Lillie and Mary, 13, and 17, respectively. They also have one 19-year-old daughter, but she is legally considered as an adult.
The website claims Davis also asked for spousal support. As it was previously reported, Bush, 46, and Davis decided to split up ten months ago and issued a statement to Us Weekly, indicating their relationship was beyond repair.
A representative for the former co-host of the Today Show said they were both committed to securing a "bright future " for their children, and would co-parent amicably.
They broke up nearly a year after Bush received heavy scrutiny for indirect involvement in the Access Hollywood tape, where Donald Trump joked about groping women, insinuating his celebrity status allowed him to do whatever he wished.
The tape featured the now-72-year-old real estate mogul stating that he was "automatically attracted to beautiful women." The Apprentice alum claimed he "could do anything" because he was a star, and they would let him.
Just one month after the release of the Access Hollywood recording, Trump was elected to be the president of the United States. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said he was "not grateful for the moment."
The former talk show host said he was grateful for the incident because it "hit (him) all the way to (his) core." Back in 2016, most political pundits and mainstream media publications assumed it would cost Trump the election, however, he ended up securing a victory through dominating the mid-Western and Rust Belt states.
