According to some reports, Bill Cosby’s trial was delayed yesterday after one juror supposedly claimed they thought he was guilty! The controversial comedian’s legal team has demanded the sexual harassment case to be halted as a consequence.
Journalist M. Brown revealed that Cosby’s legal proceedings were put on a short hiatus after one juror simply said ‘Cosby is guilty,’ to a number of other potential jurors.
Cosby’s team of lawyers requested the trial to be postponed until a new jury panel would be selected as they thought this one was ‘contaminated,’ meaning they were no longer impartial.
The judge dealing with the case, Steven O’Neill was planning on ruling on Bill Cosby’s attorneys’ request this upcoming Monday, April 9 but now the trial has been delayed.
In the meantime, we heard that Judge O’Neill refused to recuse himself from the shamed star’s case after his legal team claimed brand new evidence proved his wife was actually ‘involved with an advocacy organization for sexual assault victims.’
The Judge did consider to give up the case after 27 months of charing it when Cosby’s team also accused him of being biased against him.
However, following a 20 minutes long debate a couple of days ago, O’Neill decided he would keep his post.
His wife, Deborah O’Neill, is the director of the Sexual Trauma Treatment and Prevention Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Cosby’s team used this information to accuse her of donating to an organization that is affiliated with a protest against the comedian.
O’Neill explained the donation was actually made by his wife’s employer, denying there were any biased opinions on his part.
‘My spouse and I share the love of each other and our families, our children and our grandchildren. What we don’t share are unified views of social, legal and political issues,’ Steven O’Neill stated.
