Sherlock actor Martin Freeman slammed the fans claiming they are ruining the show but it looks like co-star Benedict Cumberbatch does not agree! In fact, he went ahead and attacked him for his beliefs.
Sadly, even though on Sherlock, the two men play a super close mystery-solving duo, in real life, the actors seem to be feuding.
It’s pretty clear that it’s serious and it’s getting worse by the day judging by their insults.
Last month, Freeman revealed that even though he is happy the series is so successful, the rabid fans and the pressure that comes with that sort of dedication from the fanbase has made the whole experience a lot less fun for him.
‘Being in that show, it is a mini-Beatles thing. People’s expectations, some of it is not fun anymore. It is not a thing to be enjoyed, it is a thing of: ‘You better f**king do this, otherwise you are a c**t.’ That is not fun anymore,’ Freeman confessed.
It is safe to say Cumberbatch couldn’t disagree more and his response was as harsh as they come, which shows they are definitely not on good terms behind the cameras.
‘It’s pretty pathetic if that is all it takes to let you not want to take grip of your reality. What, because of expectations? I do not know. I don’t necessarily agree with that.’
Benedict Cumberbatch’s response comes just as the dedicated fans are waiting anxiously to learn if there is going to be a fifth season or not.
We know that for now, he is the only one signed.
‘There is a level of obsession where [the franchise] becomes theirs even though we are the ones making it,’ Cumberbatch admitted, adding: ‘But I just do not feel affected by that in the same way, I have to say.’
