‘Below Deck’s’ Peter Hunziker Apologizes5 Weeks After Being Fired Over RacistInstagram: See Post
Peter Hunziker took to his go-to social media platform, Instagram, to apologize for that racist post that led to his firing from Below Deck Mediterranean! The former Bravo reality TV star told his followers that he was regretful after having offended and hurt so many people out there.
The man wrote a detailed and lengthy apology, finally addressing the mistake that caused him to be fired from his job.
As you might know, he is just one of many Bravo celebrities who have been fired over racist words and behavior.
Vanderpump Rules, (a show airing on the same network,) stars Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were also let go not too long ago.
According to Peter Hunziker, he could not feel any more regretful and guilty over what he did at the time.
Addressing the events that led to his departure from Below Deck Mediterranean, Peter dished that: ‘A little over 3 months ago, someone sent me a meme on social media and I thoughtlessly reposted it. I now realize how painful the imagery and symbolism is and, upon deeper consideration, I realize that the implicit bias that exists in the brief text written in the meme is offensive. To all those I have hurt and offended, please know that I am genuinely sorry. I have always supported equal rights and equal opportunities for ALL people.’
In conclusion, he wished people health and wellness before going on to remind them they should always think twice before posting anything on social media.
This comes more than a month after the network decided to let him go from Below Deck over his past post.
On June 17, Bravo stated via their Official IG account that ‘Peter Hunziker of Below Deck Mediterranean has been terminated for his racist post. Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes.’
The fifth season of the popular TV show aired on May 26.
