Barack Obama's Daughter Malia Is Learning To Deal With People Approaching Her For Comments About Donald Trump's Policies
It appears that Malia Obama is as aware of the potential trap that could be set up by the media as her parents - Michelle and Barack.
The 19-year-old former first daughter is supposed to be just another student attending Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but she is not.
She is being photographed by other students who attend the Ivy League research university.
Malia even gets approached by parents or relatives of the students for pictures and autographs.
During a recent incident, the future filmmaker declined to be photographed with a grandmother and drama ensued.
According to TMZ , after the elderly tried to take a picture without Malia's consent, she screamed and asked to be left alone.
Not everyone is disrespectful towards the young lady, take Boston Globe reporter Steve Annear for example.
He recently met Malia while he was working on a piece on campus.
Annear wrote that he introduced himself to Malia and asked if she would answer a few questions.
Malia shook his hand and said she was happy to meet him.
Aware that anything she said on any topic will be used against her and her family, Malia told the reporter "no comment."
Former President Obama stated in an interview with People that he knows that his daughter is ready for the real world and added: "They are ready to get out, just out from their parents' house. The fact that their parents' house is the White House may add to it. But Malia is going off to college. She is a grown woman."
Michelle, being the caring mother that she is, was quick to add, "she is still a baby."
Supporters of the Democratic politician have been cheering Malia on.
One said: "HONEY. YOU'RE ADORABLE AND VERY ELEGANT. I TRULY LOVE SOOO MUCH !!!!"
Another stated: "Have a great first year in college!!"
A third commenter shared: "Since your family is in the spotlight ... expect it. Be cautious and trust your gut."
A source close to the family explained: “Malia [Obama]‘s parents trust her and know she has a good head on her shoulders, but it is still hard for them to let go.”
The person in the know added: “They understand that she is spreading her wings, that she is bound to make some mistakes and they are okay with that. But as much as they trust her they cannot help but worry about her. Malia and her parents are still super close, and she is really sweet with them. She calls them pretty much every night to check in; she is very respectful.”
Many are eager to see the films and documentaries that Malia will make in a few years.
