Aziz Ansari responded to the accusation that he assaulted a woman whom he met in 2017. In a story written to Babe.net, the woman recalled a story where she hung out with Aziz Ansari after meeting him at an afterparty for the 2017 Emmy Awards.
Aziz and the woman went out on a date and ended up engaging in sexual activity, but unbeknownst to Ansari, she didn’t want to have intercourse, and she thought he “could tell by the signs.”
The woman described the incident in question as “the worst night of” her life. In response to the charges, Aziz said that he had no idea that she felt “uncomfortable” and he believed the interaction between the two was entirely consensual.
According to the woman who identified herself as Grace in the article, Ansari became “forcible” and pointed his penis toward her for her to perform oral sex.
Grace said that she did and “felt pressured,” and it was one unexpected and she didn’t think it would happen because she said she was uncomfortable.
Additionally, the woman said she spoke with her roommate who corroborated the story. The blog Grace posted on shared a text message conversation which indicated how uncomfortable she felt with the interaction.
Grace decided to share her experience after watching the Golden Globes ceremony after she saw Aziz wearing a pin supporting the Time’s Up movement. Aziz won the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy TV series for his role in Master of None. Aziz has won several awards for the television show, taking Best Comedy almost three years in a row.
