It’s hard to imagine there was a time when Ashley Graham didn’t cover magazines or when she sparked controversy for appearing in Lane Bryant ads wearing lingerie. Things have changed and now Ashley Graham is not just a plus size model, but she is one of the top models throughout the industry.
Ashley Graham covered Allure magazine for the July 2019 issues wearing a heavy Chanel sweater with vivid blocks of color and showcasing bright blue eyeshadow from celebrity makeup artist James Kaliardos. The photos went viral and Ashely shared the cover picture on her official Instagram account.
Ashley released a statement in the caption of her official post expressing her thanks and gratefulness for covering Allure.
“💙 @allure 💙 this magazine has always been a leader in beauty and this cover – my FIRST for Allure – means so much to me! Thank you to the incredible team behind this shoot.”

Makeup artist James Kaliardos shared several photos from the magazine spread that highlighted his work on Ashley’s beautiful face. You’ll also notice in the photos that Ashley models two distinct hairstyles. In the first photo, Ashely’s hair is slicked back and wet. In the second, her locks are thick and wavy. Bob Recine styled Ashley’s hair.

Ashley Graham is a social media superstar and advocate for women of all sizes, shapes, and ethnicities. She was featured in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition in February 2018 and has campaigned that beauty does not come in one size. Ashley Graham has opened the door for many women to not only enter the world of modeling but to accept their bodies for the shape they are and learn to love themselves and find their own beauty.
