We are only a few weeks away from Arrowverse’s epic “Elseworlds” crossover, which will introduce some exciting new characters to the fold. This includes The Monitor, who was featured in the most recent teaser trailer for the crossover special.
The Monitor’s involvement has fans wondering if The CW is planning on starting the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline in the near future. In the comics, Crisis lead to the introduction of one of DC’s most iconic villains: The Anti-Monitor.

We still don’t know what to expect in the upcoming crossover event but welcoming The Anti-Monitor would definitely shake things up in a major way.
The Monitor is not the only new face on the “Elseworlds” crossover.
According to Comic Book, fans will get a chance to meet Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) from Earth-38. Given Superman’s black suit and cape, some fans believe this version is actually Superboy-Prime, who was also featured in the Crisis story.
It is unclear if producers plan on sticking close to the comics in the “Elseworlds” crossover. If they do, then Superboy-Prime will turn out to be an enemy of Team Arrow.
The official synopsis for part one provides some clues about what’s ahead. The summary reveals that Oliver (Steven Amell) and Barry (Grant Gustin) seek help after discovering they have somehow swapped bodies.
The two team up with Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), who takes them to Earth-38 to get help from Superman.

In the second part, Olive and Barry track down John Deegan (Jeremy Davies) in Gotham City. While in Gotham, they run into Kate Kane (Ruby Rose), aka Batwoman, who helps them find more information about the body swap.
The final part features Oliver, Barry, Supergirl, and Superman fighting to save their worlds from certain destruction.
The “Elseworlds” crossover begins on Dec. 9 on The CW.
