Season 7 of Arrow introduced a new Green Arrow while Oliver (Stephen Amell) adjusts to life behind bars. We still do not know the identity of Star City’s newest vigilante, but a scene at the end of the premiere hints that the new Green Arrow is someone from the future.
Last season, Oliver turned himself in to stop Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) and was placed in supermax for his vigilante ways. With Oliver behind bars, Team Arrow dispersed, and Star City was left without anyone protecting it. That changed with the arrival of the new Green Arrow, who is targeting a new list of criminals.

Green Arrow’s arrival also inspired Rene (Rick Gonzalez) to fight crime once again. Unfortunately, that also motivated Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) to take him down.
With things heating up in Star City, the end of the episode offered a hint about the new Green Arrow’s true identity.
According to Screen Rant, the scene featured an older version of Oliver’s son, William, chatting with Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) about finding the location of Lian Yu. The scene was a flash-forward and might be showing us how Harper trained William to be like his father.
If that turns out to be true, then it is possible that the new Green Arrow is William traveling back in time to help out Oliver.

The only flaw in this theory is that time travel has not played a big part in Arrow over the past seven seasons. Apart from some magic in Season 5, the show has remained grounded and avoids straying too much into science fiction.
A time-traveling William would certainly break that trend, though it would shake things up and make the storyline a little more interesting moving forward. Either way, it will be exciting when we finally know the identity of the new Green Arrow.
New episodes of Arrow air Monday nights on The CW.
