It looks like there was a more significant connection between Ariana Grande’s brother Frankie and her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller than we thought. Frankie Grande revealed that while Miller died of a reported drug overdose, he himself owes his sobriety to the fallen rapper.
The former Big Brother star took to social media today to share a pic of Miller, and in the caption, Frankie revealed the late star helped him get clean.
‘I.m beyond heartbroken over Malcolm’s death. He was a really good friend and he was wonderful to my sister. He was the reason that I went to the rehab center where I was detoxed from all of the drugs alcohol and medication I was taking, when I could not imagine living without them,’ he wrote.
Frankie went on to recall that Mac used to be really thoughtful when it came to his sobriety milestones.
‘I remember how when I would be 30, 60, 90 days clean and Malcolm would be there with a gift and card and some words of encouragement… telling me he knew how hard becoming sober is and how impressed he was I was succeeding.’
Ariana’s brother made it very clear that ‘Addiction is a TERRIBLE disease…’
He continued to be positive about it, however, and encouraged others to keep fighting this disease just like him.
‘Our disease is strong but WE’RE STRONGER, and I vow to work every moment of my whole life to keep myself sober so that I may be there for others.’
Of course, getting sober is never easy, but Grande reminded his followers that ‘YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TRUDGE IT ALONE.’
Finally, he remembered Miller and revealed it’s been more than a year since he got clean: ‘Malcolm my friend, you will be dearly missed. And I know you will be looking down on me from heaven, proud AF for every day that I live my life clean and sober… 453 days and counting… Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
