Fans were bummed that Ariana Grande and her fiancé, Pete Davidson, were not present at the 2018 Emmy Awards that took place last night.
The awards show was hosted by Pete’s pals and SNL co-stars — Colin Jost and Michael Che.
It was rather obvious that Ariana skipped the ceremony because she is mourning the loss of her good friend and ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, who died last week.
The rapper passed away due to an overdose. In an official statement, Ariana’s team explained that she needs time to heal and added: “Contrary to reports, Ariana will not be attending the Emmys tonight. Pete has also opted not to attend to be with her in New York. Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend. She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without a deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”
Recently, Ariana opened up about her ex by saying: “I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will. I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. So many times. I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I wanted to. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. rest.”
Meanwhile, it is being claimed that Pete is the rock that Ariana needs in her life.
The source said: “Ariana has found even more love for Pete especially with how he has dealt with her during all the Aretha Franklin fallout. Add to that her emotions that have come up after Mac’s death; he has been her rock. He has been so strong for her. All the things that are happening between the two have built such a strong bond with each other.”
Ariana has the full backing of her fans.
