As fans know by now, Ariana Grande was supposed to be a guest on SNL again but she decided to cancel for ‘emotional reasons.’ However, the singer promises that she will make it up to everyone with a future epic appearance on the show.
The pop star has been struggling to cope with the passing of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and has also been staying away from the public eye as she mourns and recovers.
Lorne Michaels, an SNL Executive Producer, confirmed that she was supposed to be a musical guest on the 44th season’s opener today.
However, Ariana apparently pulled out for ‘emotional reasons.’
Now, one source tells HollywoodLife that ‘She still wants to take time away from the spotlight and get back to a good place. She just has to ride out her emotions a little bit longer before she does anything in particular for a TV appearance or SNL appearance.’
They went on to say that ‘She has an open invite to come on the show at any time this season. But things might actually work themselves out to where she would return for the finale. This would give her a good chunk of time to get away from it all. Plus she would even consider doing double duty and hosting the show as well. When she returns, she wants to go all out.’
Grande was a musical guest before, in addition to hosting the comedy show back in 2016 which is also when she met her fiance, Pete Davidson.
At the time, she proved that she is really funny as well, not only a great musician so everyone is looking forward to her return.
