Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown earned six nominations for the 2019 Emmy Awards a little over one year following his suicide.

The late chef's super popular show, Parts Unknown had episodes from its 12th and final season nominated. These are the categories Bourdain's show could possibly win an award in come the fall.

Outstanding Cinematography for a Nonfiction Program for the Bhutan episode. Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program for the Lower East Side episode. Outstanding Informational Series Or Special and Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction Program for West Texas episode. Last but not least, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Nonfiction Program and Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program for the Kenya episode.

The CNN show and the production company behind it, Zero Point Zero decided to air the final season following Bourdain's shocking suicide last summer. Several of the episodes were not finished when he passed away.

Although the shooting was complete, only the Kenya episode featured the chief narrating it. Fans of the show know that Bourdain was pivotal to not only sharing his food journey but also narrating the episodes.

The 12th seasons episodes were different than the previous seasons because Bourdain's signature flare and heart were missing. Fans were happy to be able to see the final season, but it was definitely challenging to watch.

The six episodes that did not have Bourdain as commentary used various guest speakers to narrate the show. All guest commentators were featured in the show. The multiple episodes also included series retrospectives and tributes to Bourdain.

Last year a month after Bourdain's death, the show and the chef were nominated for multiple Creative Arts Emmy Awards. In the fall the legendary chef won writing for a nonfiction program, posthumously. Producer Lydia Tenaglia accepted the award for him, claiming it was bittersweet.

Anthony Bourdain was found dead by apparent suicide on June 8, 2018, in Strasbourg, France, where he was in the middle of filming Parts Unknown .

A year later the loss is still having an impact on his fans, who recently declared his birthday June 25th, Bourdain Day. Social media was flooded with tributes to the man who was gone too soon. His take on the food culture around the world was one in a million.

The 2019 Emmy Awards are set to air on Fox on Sunday, Sept. 22 live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

I really liked Anthony Bourdain's wit and cocky attitude. I don't believe he committed suicide. He said some comments about certain people a couple days before his death and I believe it got him killed.
