Anne Heche And James Tupper Separate After 10 Years
According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, Anne Heche and James Tupper separated after being together for more than ten years. They have an eight-year-old son named Atlas who was born in 2009; Heche is currently seeking custody and child support.
Anne wants joint custody and "reasonable visitation" rights for both parents. She also wants the 52-year-old to pay her legal fees for the court battle.
The pair first met while they were working on the ABC series Men in Trees in 2006. At the time, she was married to Coleman Laffoon. Heche and Laffoon got divorced, and she started dating the Big Little Lies actor not long after.
In 2007, Anne and Tupper moved in together, and a representative speaking on behalf of Anne said she was expecting a child with Tupper due in December of 2008.
While they dated, the couple worked on several projects together including the show Aftermath on Syfy and NBC's The Brave.
Despite being an item for a long time - more than ten years - they never got married. However, in an interview in 2011, Heche said she was "eternally engaged "to Tupper and said there was never a rush to make it official.
Anne said she has "already said yes" and would walk down the aisle at 60-years-old. Heche mentioned that she and Tupper had both already been married and so there wasn't much to gain from that.
Before the actress was married to Laffoon, she was also dating Ellen DeGeneres from 1997 until 2000. Since then, it's been rumored that Ellen refuses to have Heche on her show at all costs. Sources close to Heche said at the time of their split that things didn't end that smoothly.
