On Tuesday night during an appearence on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Annabelle Wallis spoke with Seth about how Jeremy Renner breaking his arms actually benefited her situation. As it was previously reported, Renner hurt himself in an accident while filming Tag.
The 33-year-old said to Seth, “I love Jeremy,” but fortunately for her, “she got a paid holiday.” She got to have a cocktail by the pool and she thought to herself that Jeremy really “took one for the team.”
“That’s why he’s an Avenger,” the Tag alum explained. You can check out what Wallis had to say about the ordeal in the video below:
The movie, Tag, is based on a group of friends from the small town of Spokane, Washington, where the main characters play a month-long game of tag over the period of twenty-three years.
Tag is actually based on a real-life story and was profiled in an article for the Wall Street Journal. Following the attention received as a result of the WSJ piece, people in Hollywood approached them about the potential of making a movie.
Initially, they wanted to cast both Will Ferell and Jack Black, but the two men left the project. Moreover, as mentioned above, Jeremy Renner actually fractured his right elbow and his left wrist during filming.
It’s not like he “broke both of his arms” like Wallis explained, but he still got injured, nonetheless. Broken bones or not, it must’ve been difficult to film the movie with injuries like that.
The movie in both the United States and Canada is coming out on the 15th of June, 2018, alongside the upcoming Incredibles film, Incredibles 2.
Industry analysts expect it to earn around $12-$16 million from 3,382 theaters in its opening weekend. Hopefully, Renner’s pain and resilience will be rewarded with a solid run at the box office!
