Angelina Jolie’s Oldest Son Maddox To Study At South Korean University – How Does She Feel About Him Leaving Home?
Angelina Jolie’s kids are growing up so fast and now, it’s time for Maddox to start college! That being said, it turns out that the oldest of the bunch has decided to attend higher education in South Korea, which means that he is leaving the nest! But how does the actress feel about her boy being all grown up and going far away?
One insider tells HollywoodLife that ‘this summer is bittersweet’ for the mother and Maddox’s siblings since he’ll start college in Korea this fall.
PEOPLE reports that Maddox will be studying biochemistry at Yonsei University, one of the top three universities in the country.
The source explains that while she is really proud of him, Angie is ‘also sentimental about her baby growing up and leaving home. It’s an end of an era. He’s been so bonded with her for so many years. Now, he’s heading out on his own journey.’
But no worries! Even though Maddox will be thousands of miles away from home, his mother will still see him quite often.
That’s not to say him leaving is not ‘still a very significant change that Angie’s grappling with. The other kids are going to miss Maddox terribly too because he’s their hero. So they are all just trying to enjoy their time together as much as possible.’
While the young man was accepted into multiple universities, Yonsei was Maddox’s top choice.
He’s been practicing his Korean a lot, taking lessons a few times a week, reports another PEOPLE insider.
The HollywoodLife source went on to mention that ‘Maddox always knew that he wanted to study in Asia, so that was never a question, and it’s one of the reasons Angelina is so in awe of him. He already knows his own mind and knows exactly what he wants.’
