The actress opened up more than ever! Angelina Jolie even admitted that her divorce from Brad Pitt made her feel not only ‘deep sadness’ but also like she was ‘losing herself!’

While chatting with the French publication Madame Figaro, Jolie got candid about some of her most difficult and dark times.

Therefore, fans were able to learn more about how she was affected by her highly publicized split from fellow actor Brad Pitt.

‘I do not know what my fate holds, but what I'm convinced of is that I'm in a period of transition, a return to my roots, a return to myself. Because I had lost myself a bit. I felt a deep sadness, I was so hurt. On the other hand, it felt interesting to reconnect with this humility and this insignificance I was feeling. Maybe this is what being a human is in the end…’

And that was not all! The actress was not just dealing with a public divorce and losing her partner of many years but ‘On top of all this, I suffered some health issues.’

In the end, while she may have been through a lot, Angie mentioned that the last few years have also managed to put things into perspective for her.

‘All these things settle in you and remind you of how lucky you are of being alive. It’s a lesson I pass onto my children: the idea of renewal, and through it all, the possibility of joy. I had to rediscover the joy,’ the Hollywood star dished during her interview.

Indeed, it really looks like Jolie is trying her best to live life to the fullest despite how things ended between her and the father of her children.

She is now focusing on her career a lot more than she’s done in the last few years and is spending a lot of time with her family as well!
