The Real Housewives of Atlanta would not be what it is today without NeNe Leakes. Leakes has been with Bravo’s popular series since the very beginning and recently crowned herself the queen of RHOA. While fans may agree to disagree, Andy Cohen chimed in on what he thinks about Leakes taking credit for the success of the show.
This week, Leakes took to Twitter to discuss her legacy with fans. The RHOA star has been with the show for almost all 11 seasons. The only exception was when she took a break in Season 9. She also had limited involvement in Season 8 and only appeared on a handful of occasions that year.
Given her history on the show, Leakes felt it was appropriate to take credit for the success of the reality series and tell fans how she really feels about her time on the show.
“I started this franchise, shot the pilot and waited 4 it to be shopped! There’s never been a season where @Bravotv @Andy didn’t ask me back,” Leakes shared.
How did Andy Cohen react to Leakes’ comments?
The Watch What Happens Live host immediately backed Leakes on Twitter and proclaimed that RHOA “is the house that Nene built.” Cohen’s praise is significant for Leakes, who will deal with some serious issues in the upcoming season.
According to Page Six, Leakes will talk about her husband, Greg’s, cancer diagnosis in Season 11 and how his battle with cancer has changed her outlook on life.
Leakes previously opened up about her husband’s illness on Instagram. The RHOA star told fans that Greg’s battle with the disease changed her marriage. It also affected how she views her own health and eating habits. The two were married for over a decade before splitting in 2011. They renewed their vows in 2013.
NeNe Leakes announced the cancer news this past June and the issue is expected to be a major storyline for her this season.
Season 11 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta premieres Nov. 4 on Bravo.
