Andrew Cuomo Says He Feels ‘Embarrassed’ After Harassment Accusations But Refuses To Resign!
Andrew Cuomo has released a statement after he was accused of sexual harassment. However, the New York Governor also stressed that he would not be resigning in spite of the shameful scandal.
As you might have heard, three women have come forward to claim he was inappropriate at work.
In response, Andrew Cuomo told in a press conference that he was ’embarrassed’ for all of the ‘pain [he has] caused.’
Furthermore, he also promised to fully cooperate with the investigation!
‘I never knew at the time I was making anybody feel uncomfortable. I never, ever meant to offend or hurt anybody or cause anybody pain. I feel terrible these people felt uncomfortable, hurt, felt pain from our interactions, I am embarrassed by it, and feel bad.’
He went on to stress that ‘I never touched anyone inappropriately.’
At that point, Cuomo was asked by CBS New York’s Marcia Kramer about that pic of him putting his hands on Ruch’s cheeks.
The man noted that while he totally understands how she feels now, it is just how he usually greets people.
‘You can find hundreds of pictures of me making that same gesture with hundreds of people, women, men, children. You can go find hundreds of pictures of me kissing people, men, women. It’s my usual, customary way of greeting … By the way, it was my father’s [former Governor Mario Cuomo] way of greeting people. I understand that sensitivities have changed and behavior has changed, and I get it.’
Obviously, Cuomo insists that he is innocent and he never harassed anyone.
But despite this, some members of his own party have been requesting that he resigns his position!
For instance, Congresswoman Kathleen Rice made her wishes that he steps down known on Monday night.
Furthermore, New York Attorney General Letitia James revealed that all of the findings of the investigation will be made public.
