Anderson Cooper Officially A Dad After Welcoming Son Wyatt Morgan - Shares Emotional Announcement And Adorable Pics!
Anderson Cooper took to social media to announce that he is now officially a father! The CNN anchor posted some super adorable pictures of the newborn who he’s named after his late dad, Wyatt.
Alongside the images, he also wrote a lengthy caption in which he opened up about what this means to him and more!
‘I want to share with you all some joyful news. On Monday, I became a dad. This is Wyatt Cooper. He is 3 days old. He's named after my father, who died when I was 10. I hope I can be as good of a dad as he was,’ he started his touching letter announcement.
Indeed, you may know that Anderson’s father, writer Wyatt Emory Cooper passed away back in 1978 during open heart surgery.
He was only 50 years old and while he was still pretty young, Anderson was old enough for him to remember his dad very well and miss him to this day.
Furthermore, the anchor also shared a similar announcement about becoming a dad himself, this time on air.
That being said, he got a bit emotional while talking about his new baby boy.
He revealed that he paid tribute to his mom as well, not just his father, when naming his son.
Gloria Vanderbilt is also no longer amongst us, passing away back in June at the age of 95.
‘My son’s middle name's Morgan. It is a family name on my mom’s side. I know that my mom and dad liked the name Morgan because I found a list that they made 52 years ago when they were trying to pick a name for me. Wyatt Morgan Cooper. My son, he was 7.2 lbs at birth, and he's sweet, and soft, and healthy and I'm beyond happy,’ Anderson shared with his audience. Aww... Congratulations, Anderson Cooper!
