Yet another woman has come out of the woodwork to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, however, this incident goes all the way back to 2002 in New York City. According to a report from The Wrap, the girl was just 16-years-old at the time.
The complaint filed on Wednesday tells the story of Jane Doe, who Harvey supposedly lured back to his apartment, where he sexually assaulted her and subsequently subjected her to harassment and intimidation for years.
The court documents added that “Jane Doe was a virgin.” As a result of the incident in question, the unknown complainant has experienced post-traumatic stress disorder, including both emotional and physical symptoms.
The court documents claim the woman’s livelihood and “property” was harmed as a result of the disgraced producer’s behavior and actions. In response to these new charges, Harvey’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, described the story as “preposterous.”
Ben said in a statement to The Wrap that many of the women involved in these cases have turned out to be liars, and this almost “20-year-old” allegation will soon uncover itself as false.
As it was previously reported, the judge threw out the claims from one woman who accused Harvey of assault. Reportedly, the prosecutor failed to mention key details in the case that later proved disastrous for the woman’s story. It was reported by multiple publications that she agreed to engage in transactional sexual behavior in exchange for acting parts.
Lucia Evans, the woman whose charges were dropped, claims that Harvey forced her to perform oral sex on him in 2004. However, in an email to Ronan Farrow in 2015, the woman suggests the entire incident was consensual.
Currently, Harvey Weinstein is managing to fight off some criminal charges, but he’s facing against several civil lawsuits that are costing him significant legal fees.
During a conversation with CNN, Harvey’s attorney, Ben, said he has been unfairly “vilified” and the court of public opinion has already judged him as guilty. He and the rest of the legal team are confident that Harvey will be vindicated.
