'American Horror Story: Cult' - Is Winter Anderson The Real Villain?
Leading up to this season of American Horror Story: Cult , all the promotional material seemed to point to two things: This season’s villain would be the blue haired, Trump supporting Kai, a character played by AHS alum Evan Peters . And, if you didn’t think clowns were creepy before, you will now.
But after the first episode of the season aired, there is speculation that Kai may not be the real villain at all. The clowns, however, are still terrifying.
The storyline for the new season focuses on Sarah Paulson, who plays Ally, a lesbian restaurant owner living in Michigan. Ally starts having some serious anxiety issues once Trump is elected President. Cue the hallucinations and creepy clowns!
Kai, on the other hand, is a bigot who is trying to start his own political movement. But, is he the real villain?
Multiple sources have pointed out that episode one may have given fans a hint as to who the true villain will be this season. Kai’s sister and Clinton campaigner, Winter Anderson, played by Billie Lourd.
What drew them to that conclusion?
Well, it just seems too obvious for Kai to be the one to watch out for. Yes, he is a racist and a homophobe. Yes, he is a Trump supporter. Yes, he seems to be capitalizing on people’s fears post-election. And he says things like “There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a humiliated man.”
But, as it was pointed out earlier, would show creator Ryan Murphy really reveal his hand so early?
That doesn’t seem likely. Enter Kai’s sister, Winter. Who shows up interviewing for a nanny job to take care of Oz, Ally and her wife Ivy’s son. She gets the job. And her first night with Oz features snuff films, the dark web, and intentionally exposing him to clowns committing murder.
Another clue may be the fact that Winter left school and campaigned an entire year for Clinton in Florida. Why does that matter? Well, season four took place in Jupiter, Florida. And that season featured Twisty the Clown, who has already appeared in the current season. Is it just a coincidence? Or is there a connection?
We have the entire season to find out.
