Almost two months after Naya Rivera lost her life by drowning in a lake, one of her Glee co-stars, Amber Riley, decided to pay a very touching tribute to her friend while on today’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The actress took the stage to deliver a memorable performance in the name of the co-worker and friend she lost way too early.
She sang: ‘God knows I’m tired…and it just hits you like a bullet/Now I need a moment alone with my soul/I can’t stop these thoughts,’ while in the background, pictures of Naya would be flashing by.
Furthermore, to add to the tribute feel of the performance and give it a timeless look and sound, the video was set to black and white and the song seemed to channel the era of the classics such as Gloria Gaynor and Aretha Franklin.
As for the lyrics, they seem to perfectly express how she feels while mourning the late actress: ‘Everybody thinks I’m okay/But don’t nobody know the way I’m really feeling/Only heaven knows that nothing hurts more than falling…set me free. I’m ready to cry…just let it be.’
Amber’s amazing voice and emotion-filled delivery were sure to give the show’s audience at home chills and touch their hearts.

This comes after Amber also paid tribute to Naya on social media last month.
She wrote, in part, at the time: ‘[Miss] you baby girl and I love you #NayaRivera. I am so mad the world will never see just how high you could’ve soared. Her brain was brilliant. She was smart and quick as a whip. Always had me in stitches, we’d be in tears laughing so hard at one another. There was never any competition, or shade, or intimidation with us. Just pure adoration and respect. You deserved better. You were so much more than just this show. Your talent outshined us all so many times!’
