Amal Clooney Thought She’d Be A Spinster Before She Meant ‘Great Love’ George Clooney

On Thursday, George Clooney was honored with the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award. Surrounded by some of his most notable colleagues, such as Cate Blanchett, Don Cheadle, and Anna Kendrick, he was honored to receive the prestigious film award.
Amal Clooney gave a heartfelt speech about the actor, in which she spoke openly about him and their love for the very first time.
They have been married for four years and have twins, Alexander and Ella, who just turned one.
Of her husband, Amal spoke eloquently and movingly about the man she’s married to.
Amal joked that she was certain she’d “be a spinster” before she met him when she was 35.
While she listed off his personal and professional achievements, it was his character and his new role as a father that garnered the most reaction and attention.
George visibly teared up when Amal spoke lovingly about what an amazing father he is to their two children.
“My love, what I have found with you is the great love that I always hoped existed. Seeing you with our children, Ella and Alexander, is the greatest joy in my life.”
She praised him for filling their home with love and laughter. She joked that their kids don’t even realize that he’s actually Batman, a talking fox and a good friend of Mary Poppins, yet.
One thing that she chose to highlight about her husband was how generous and what a gentlemen he is.
She spoke about the time he brought 13 of his closet friends over to his home and handed them all a briefcase filled with a million dollars each.
The human right’s lawyer joked that this was much to the chagrin of his 14th closest friend.
According to Amal, he’s kind to everyone he meets, down to the extra’s and crew on all the sets he works on to the security detail and staff he personally hires.
It isn’t his career as one of the most talked about actors in Hollywood that makes him special, or worthy of someone who snagged Amal, but the person he is on the inside.
