Currently, Alex Jones is expecting the first child with her husband, Charlie Thomson. Though it seems that everything is great, she revealed that she had some fears that she might not be able to have a child in the near future. On Monday, she gave an interview to This Morning, and the 39-year-old said that she was kind of naive when it came to the life expectancy of her fertility.
During a talk about a documentary she had filmed on this topic when she was 38, she declared that her mother started menopause at the age of 44, which was 6 years more than she was at the time. She also said that only then did she discover the early onset of her mother’s menopause, and this made her think a bit about the situation.
According to her statement, they never talked about it and it never came up. Moreover, she added that she had always wanted a family, but that her mother never pressured her or her sister to have any kids. She denied leaving the family life late because she wanted to focus on a career. Alex said that she was not a career girl and that family is her first priority in life. It makes sense if you think about the fact that she only met her husband quite late in life.
Both her and the show host agreed that nowadays women have more options than they had before: they get to eat healthier, to exercise, but at the same time their biology remains the same. Alex Jones also added that nobody thought her at school about the period when her body is in her prime. She explained that after 35 years old, the fertility of a woman declines drastically, so this might be some theme to think about for other women too.
