While aging is a difficult process for anyone to go through, it’s doubly difficult for those in the spotlight who made their entire living off of their youthful beauty.
This is definitely the case for those who have worked in the modeling industry. Former models like Christie Brinkley have to combat this perception as they age into their 50s and 60s. Maintaining a sense of beauty and desirability can sometimes be an ongoing struggle for so many.
Brinkley has recently decided to be transparent about her lifestyle choices and skin care staples that have helped her maintain her youthful skin even in the face of inevitable aging. In the past, she has credited her complexion to her comprehensive skincare regimens and her vegetarian eating style. But she’s now opening up about the other procedures that she uses to keep her skin in tip-top shape.
While some people in the business have no issues going under the knife to help maintain their looks, Brinkley wanted to opt for a noninvasive and nonsurgical method to preserve her killer features.
Brinkley speaks highly of the injectable Xeomin for the fine lines around her mouth and forehead, often the result of common expressions the face makes over the years.
Brinkley also takes part in a skin lifting procedure called Ultherapy for parts of her neck and decolletage that need a bit of a boost. This part of the body ages too and so many people don’t properly focus on the shifts and changes that the skin on these parts of the body experience.
The beauty is candid about having reservations regarding being transparent about what procedures she does to retain her vibrant youth. “I wondered if people would think I’m phony and fake. But it’s better, to be honest and say, ‘Yeah, this is what I do.'”
With the amount of judgement and scrutiny women face in regards to their image, aging, and beauty standards, these concerns are valid and make a lot of sense. Brinkley’s main goal was to look as good as she feels and these procedures help her on that quest.
