Drake began a series of Los Angeles concerts at the Staples Center on the 12th of October, and among those in attendance included the iconic British singer, Adele, who topped the world’s music charts with her record, 21.
On Twitter, Adele cheered on Drake, saying that his concert was one of her all-time favorites. On Instagram, Drake wrote in response, “I love this woman and she came to the show.”
The Toronto-native stated that he was glad he didn’t know she was in the audience, otherwise, he would’ve been “shook.” It was an excellent display of professional courtesy and modesty on Drake’s part, who, has successfully cemented his status as the world’s most popular singer/rapper.
As fans of the superstar know, Adele lives in Los Angeles but also has a home in her native country, the United Kingdom. Drake is currently on the road with Migos, the hip-hop trio from Atlanta.
They titled their collaborative tour, The Aubrey And The Three Migos Tour, and are playing seven shows in Los Angeles, divided between the Staples Center and The Forum.
On Friday night, Drake brought out Chris Brown for the song, “Party,” and called it a full-circle moment. Drake followers will remember when he and Chris performed together almost ten years ago in Georgia.
Clearly, controversy doesn’t bother Drake, as Chris has been embroiled in a number of different contentions over the years, especially related to Karreuche Tran and Rihanna.
Rihanna and Chris Brown famously got into a fight after an award show one evening, leaving the iconic singer’s face badly bruised, especially around her eyes.
Controversy or not, Drake continues to dominate the Billboard 200, including with his latest effort, Scorpio, which went to number one and broke streaming records.
