After fighting COVID-19, Abigail Breslin's father, Michael, has unfortunately lost his life. The actress took to social media to pay tribute to him and mourn his passing.

Alongside a slideshow of pictures featuring both Abigail and her dad, she wrote: 'My daddy...Oh wow. Hard to write this. Harder than I thought. I am in shock and devastation. At 6:32 PM, my sweet, perfect, amazing, wonderful dad passed away after my family and I had said goodbye. It was COVID-19 that cut my daddy’s life too short. I appreciate more than you know, all the love and support that my family and I have received. My dad was a hilarious, tenacious, intelligent, rebellious, sweet, incredible human being. He loved life, loved his family. He loved the simple things…'

She went on to mention some of the things he loved before writing down the people he loved as well.

The list included Abigail herself, of course, as well as her brothers and her mom.

'And we loved him. And we always will. I miss you daddy. I cannot wait to see you again. I won’t ever, ever, ever forget you. To the moon and back...Love, yours forever, Abs,' she concluded her emotional tribute.

Abigail's brother and fellow actor, Spencer Breslin, took to his own platform to remember their dad as well, posting a throwback photo of him.

His letter alongside it was just as emotional and touching.

The tragic news comes after, earlier this month, the Scream Queens actress told her followers about her father being hospitalized and placed on a ventilator after contracting COVID-19.

She asked for prayers and expressed her gratitude towards all the medical staff members.

Furthermore, she also clapped back, later on, to people online who said some disgusting things about her dad and the virus. The actress made sure to highlight that COVID-19 is real and very dangerous.
