Royal fans have always known that before Kate Middleton became the Duchess of Cambridge and filled her days with classic, conservative fashion and emotionally-restrained public appearances, she was a bit of a rebel. Before she married Prince William, Middleton modeled sheer dresses and pounded pints of Guinness, and now we find out that she co-founded her very own drinking club while she was in college.
According to Elle UK, during her university days at St. Andrews — where she met Prince William — Middleton had her own club dedicated to the art of booze.
Their report claimed that when Middleton discovered the school’s drinking clubs were reserved for men only, she decided to start one just for the ladies.
“At university, Kate continued to grow in confidence,” The Guardian reported. “She co-founded a girls’ drinking society, annoyed that the old ones excluded women — but no one remembers her getting very drunk.”
The royal mom of three definitely lives a charmed life. After her drinking days at St. Andrews, she made her way into the British royal family by marrying Prince William in 2011, and over the next seven years, she has given birth to three children, including the commonwealth’s future monarch.
Middleton will also be Queen Consort when Prince William becomes King, and she is already preparing for that role by rocking some jewelry that was literally made for a queen. While heading to church this past weekend, cameras caught Middleton wearing Queen Elizabeth’s Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings.
Middleton and her family are visiting the Queen at her summer retreat at Balmoral Castle in Scotland and rode in the back seat of a car alongside her grandmother-in-law while they were on their way to Sunday services.
The ruler of Bahrain gifted those earrings to Queen Elizabeth for her wedding in 1947, and they contain a large round diamond with a smaller circle diamond hanging below it. Three baguette diamonds hang from the smaller diamond, and then there are three more small diamonds followed by the dangling pearl.
Middleton also wore the earrings back in 2016 for Remembrance Day service. Queen Elizabeth is often generous when it comes to lending jewelry to her relatives, she even loaned Kate Middleton her Cartier Halo tiara for her wedding day in 2011.
Her Majesty also loaned Meghan Markle the Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau tiara for her wedding day in May.
