Great news for the fans that grew up with the awesome series! Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, is officially headed to Netflix!
Initially known as The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the Riverdale spin-off has received an order for two whole seasons on the popular streaming service.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa – Riverdale creator – took to social media today to confirm the exciting news!
‘Things are about to get a lot more CHILLING! #Sabrina #Netflix,’ he tweeted.
The still unnamed TV show, which was supposed to be a companion drama to Riverdale at first, has been compared to classic horror movies such as The Exorcist and Rosemary’s Baby!
But given the fact that the two shows will be airing on different platforms, it is yet unclear if they will co-exist in the same universe after all.
The Sabrina reboot is apparently based on Aguirre-Sacasa’s horror comic books Chilling Adventure of Sabrina, which is an imprint of Archie Comics and also a much darker version of the well-known TV show starring Melissa Joan Hart that aired from 1996 to 2003.

‘Sabrina is coming to Netflix and she might just out-brood Jughead. Don’t @ me about talking cats (yet),’ Netflix also teased on Twitter.
But while many people are looking forward to the reboot, others, including Caroline Rhea, the actress who portrayed Aunt Hilda admitted that she is quite ‘annoyed’ the new version has been approved as she fears the dark reboot will not only alter the legacy of the original but will make her character into a psycho.
Do you agree or are you excited to watch the reboot regardless of the changes they bring to the original?
