Mama bear Tiny Harris gets emotional while talking about her precious daughter — Zonnique Pullins — T.I. is also beaming with pride.
In case you have not been following, Miss Zonnique has been getting her shine.
And that is a remarkable thing to do because she comes from a very accomplished family.
Tiny is part of Xscape, one of the most prominent R&B groups of the 1990s.
The band is having the comeback of the year after an 18-year break, and Zonnique is touring on The Great Xscape Tour with her mother.
As for T.I. — he is a well-respected rapper who has collaborated with JAY-Z, Rihanna, Lil Wayne, and Justin Timberlake.
He is also a celebrated actor and activist who puts his money where his mouth is by marching for causes dear to his heart and donating large amounts after natural disasters like hurricanes and earthquakes. Zonnique has found a way to stay out her parents’ shadow.
After the release of her 2016’s acclaimed “Worst Friday,” the talented singer and songwriter unveiled her debut EP, Love Jones, which features songs like “Should’ve Been,” “Patience,” and “Ghost.”
She was featured in a Prelude episode on BET with her parents.
Tiny said about her baby girl: “I think sometimes it is a lot of stress for her. She wants to be in her own light. When I listen to her now, I’m like you got it.”
She added on social media: “Y’all go check out my baby BET Prelude. I’m so incredibly proud of you @zonniquejailee your beauty within shines brighter than what we see on the outside. It feels good to see you exude confidence as a solo Artist. I’m so excited for what the future holds. #yougotnext 😘#zonnique #prettyhustle.”
The ATL actor, who has known Zonnique since she was about five years old and proudly calls her “my daughter,” shared: “She goes out her way to make sure she is not grouped in our shine. She runs her own situation in her own way.”
The 21-year-old revealed why she is passionate about music by saying: “R&B needs Zonnique because it is the soundtrack of my life.”
Most seem to agree; this young woman is going places.
