Ever since The Weeknd dropped his new album titled “My Dear Melancholy,” speculation surrounding his relationship with Selena Gomez has reemerged due to the revelation that he was willing to give the pop singer a kidney.
In the song “Call Out My Name,” Abel raps: “I said I didn’t feel nothing, baby, but I lied / I almost cut a piece of myself for your life / Guess I was just another pit stop / ‘Til you made up your mind / You just wasted my time / You’re on top”
The Weeknd was referring to Selena Gomez’s past need for a new kidney caused by her auto-immune disease lupus.
A source is telling Hollywood Life that he wasn’t exaggerating at all — he was actually willing to give her an organ.
The insider revealed: “Abel was totally there for Selena though, and he immediately told her that if he is a match he would totally be willing to donate one of his kidneys. And, he meant it, because he did really love Selena and was willing to do anything for her. Abel researched the process and even went and got tested, but he wasn’t a match.”
Luckily, Selena’s best friend, Francia Raisa was a match and was able to save her life.
Selena ended up splitting with the 28-year-old and reuniting with Justin Bieber. The move angered her ex-boyfriend which caused him to make the emotional tune.
“But, that’s what really pissed off Abel when they split though—he was willing to give his kidney to Selena, he was there for her totally, but then she ends up kicking him to the curb, and getting back with Justin Bieber again—just to add even more salt to the wound,” a person close to the singer admitted.
Do you think Selena Gomez was in the wrong for dumping The Weeknd?
