Saturday Night Live returns for its 43rd season on September 30, 2017, and NBC is lining up an amazing season. Earlier it was announced that Ryan Gosling would host the premiere with musical guest Jay-Z. Now we’ve learned that the star of Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, will host the October 5, 2017, episode with musical guest Sam Smith. On October 14, Kumail Nanjiani hosts with musical guest Pink. Excitement for the new season continues to mount after SNL won multiple Emmys for 2017.
Gal Gadot has plenty of filming underway. After the massive success of Wonder Woman over the summer, she’s announced filming of Wonder Woman 2. Gadot’s portrayal of Diana Prince is part of the franchise and Gal Gadot will be seen in Justice League, Justice League Part Two, Deeper, Wonder Woman 2, and Flashpoint.
This will be the first time Gal Gadot hosts Saturday Night Live. Sam Smith returns to SNL for the second time.

Just what can fans expect from Gal when she hosts the live broadcast? As she was born in Israel and served in the Israeli army, as is the law for women in the country, we might see some skits showcasing Gal’s military skills.
In the military Gal Gadot trained soldiers and helped get them in shape. There’s no question that her knowledge and skill with various weaponry helped prepare her for her Wonder Woman role.
We’re bound to see some sort of Wonder Woman parody and that will most likely go viral and trend.
One of the most interesting facts about Gal Gadot is that she was five months pregnant during part of the filming, and refilming of the movie.
Director Patty Jenkins repeatedly jokes that Gal was pregnant through much of the film. As Wonder Woman has become a symbol of female strength and power, the fact that Gal Gadot filmed much of the movie while pregnant is only more empowering.
Will we see Saturday Night Live skits featuring a seemingly pregnant Wonder Woman? It’s too early to tell and NBC hasn’t released any photos or promotional videos yet.
Sam Smith released a single on September 8, 2017, called “Too Good at Goodbyes.” The single was released in anticipation of his new album.
