R. Kelly finds himself yet in more trouble. According to news reports, a 20-year-old woman sued the R & B singer for exposing her to STI’s, more specifically, the herpes virus. Additionally, the woman is filing a suit against him for sexual battery as well as false imprisonment.
Faith Rodgers claims she met R. Kelly following his concert in March 2017 and it was there where the singer allegedly locked her up for multiple hours, “willfully, deliberately, and maliciously infecting her with herpes.”
In a report from CBS News, the publication claims that the lawsuit was filed on yesterday, Monday. As you may know, this is just one of many charges to come out lately against the singer, and R. Kelly’s lawyers have not yet responded to the new suit.
When speaking with reporters from CBS This Morning, Rodger said that Kelly demanded she takes her clothes off after they had gotten to know each other over the span of several months through text messaging and FaceTiming.
Kelly paid for her hotel room one night, and according to the young woman, he entered the room and said, “take off your clothes.” She didn’t do it because she just “wasn’t ready for sex.”
Howeer, they eventually did have sex and he recorded it on his iPad without her consent. She said she felt intimidated, and so “(she) was just waiting for it to be over.”
Moreover, the woman claims that R. Kelly attempted to recruit her into living with him along with five other women. She stated, “he goes on to tell me that he raises five women.”
R. Kelly’s representative said that it was a shame that women have come out and are “attempting to portray a relationship history with Mr. Kelly” as anything other than a consensual relationship between two consenting adults. His attorney-at-law said he’s not in control of other people’s decision-making process.
