Is the iconic TV personality about to make a comeback? After numerous sexual abuse accusations, Charlie Rose was fired from ‘CBS This Morning, ’ and we have learned that the network has been begging none other than Oprah Winfrey to take his place and save the show!
As you may be aware, no less than eight women have recently come forth with allegations that the 75-year-old made ‘unwanted sexual advances’ towards them back in the ‘90s, forcing CBS to fire him which resulted in an empty seat.
‘They’re begging Oprah to fill in. Not full time… But they’re hoping she will do one day, two days, one hour, fill in ’til Christmas. Anything,’ one source on set revealed.
It is undeniable that Oprah Winfrey would be a huge addition to the network and this is the actual strategy.
‘Unless you get a superstar it is always going to be, ‘Charlie is missing,’’ the insider explained.
In fact, asking her to join is not that unreasonable.
She did join CBS’s 60 Minutes back in September and is also really close to This Morning co-host Gayle King.
During yesterday’s episode, Gayle mentioned Oprah, saying: ‘I got an hour and 42 minutes of sleep last night. Oprah called me and said, ‘Are you OK?’ I’m not OK.’’
Don’t you think that having her dear friend hosting alongside her would make Gayle feel better? Would you like to see an all-female cast?
