Game of Thrones is the hit HBO show that caught everyone off guard. Throughout the years it has racked a record number of Emmys, and it is easy to see why.
The show does a number of things that really draws viewers in and doesn’t let the hooks out easy. Here are some of the ways that Game of Thrones has captivated the viewers throughout the years.
First of all, it takes story-telling in a completely different direction. I don’t want to spoil much for the folks who have never watched the show, but it certainly takes everything you know about storytelling and throws it out the window.
Secondly, history is portrayed in a way that is accurate and captivating. When you look at the way that they did the environment, the character dress, and even the language, it is obvious that Martin knew what he was doing, or at least did his homework.
It gives off the British middle ages vibe, and absolutely nails it. The cultures all feel like they are real and thriving as if they are happening today.
The Contrasts are stunning. They do a great job of showing the conflicting sides of life. Beauty and pain, honor and pride, royalty and peasantry, it is all done in such a grand and wonderful way.
The idea is impressive, and the show can pull off this particular contrast with such splendor. You not just see the contrast, but you can feel it too. I cannot think of one show that has brought me to this level of clarity.
One thing is for sure: We are ready for the next season. It is going to be amazing. If you have not watched Game of Thrones yet make sure you clear your schedule and catch up as soon as possible.
