The TV personality stopped by Good Morning America and gave an interview that is set to air tomorrow. Wendy Williams opened up about her health problems and revealed that she is determined to finally focus more on herself even though she is set to return to her talk show.
Wendy talked about her Graves’ Disease as well as her plans for the future following her job hiatus.
The star also shared that she thinks women in general usually focus more on other people or things in their life rather than on their own well being and happiness.
However, after her health scare, she is determined to do away with that and think more about herself.
‘We, as women, especially if we have families, you know, we are taking care of children, we are taking care of, you know, our home, our husbands, we take care of everyone but ourselves. And it is really unfortunate.’
‘That’s something that has no socioeconomic thing to it. No matter what the woman’s status is, it seems like we are all in the same boat. I am not doing that anymore, Amy [Robach]. Wendy first!’ she told the host.
As you probably remember, last month, Williams announced that she would be going on a three weeks-long hiatus from her daytime TV show so that she could rest and relax.
The star has been battling Graves’ Disease in addition to hyperthyroidism, and her doctor ordered her to take a break.
Graves Disease is ‘an immune system disorder that results in overproduction of thyroid hormones. Symptoms are usually weight loss, anxiety, tremors in hands, irritability bulging eyes, fatigue and heat sensitivity.’
Wendy explained on her show that she often feels like ‘birds [are] swimming around my head, like a cartoon. Like I am constantly high – but not [actually] high.’
