We Finally Know Why LuAnn De Lesseps Has Never Been Fired From ‘RHONY’

Real Housewives of New York star Luann de Lesseps has had a rollercoaster year, thanks to her 8-month marriage to Tom D’Agostino ending in divorce followed by her drunken Christmas Eve arrest in Florida. But, executive producer Andy Cohen says that it has been amazing to see the Countess make a comeback.
Cohen told Page Six this week that he had de Lesseps’ back after her surprising arrest and rehab stint. And now, she really is a new person, and he is excited that the woman he has known for ten years is getting a new lease on life.
De Lesseps is now singing away her remaining troubles and stress at her Feinsteins/54 Below cabaret show. Cohen has yet to see it, but what has his attention right now is de Lesseps’ dating history with New York Mets great Keith Hernandez.
“That was amazing,” Cohen said of Hernandez’s appearance on last week’s Watch What Happens Live. “During the commercial break [Hernandez] goes, ‘I dated her,’ we were like, ‘What?’ and then we came back and immediately brought that up.”
De Lesseps confirmed that she and Hernandez “hooked up” many times, but says at this age she prefers the term “dated.”
As for her cabaret show #CountessAndFriends, de Lesseps’ co-star Ramona Singer says that she is not a fan of the most popular song from the act, Money Can’t Buy You Class. While playing a game of “Never Have I Ever” at Us Weekly’s studio, Singer sipped champagne and revealed that she doesn’t enjoy the song and de Lesseps isn’t in tune.
Real Housewives of New York is currently in the middle of its tenth season, and Cohen says that watching Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill’s relationship fall apart “is a bummer” because he loved their friendship.

Bravo cameras have followed the disintegrating friendship of Frankel and Radziwill for the past few months, and Cohen says it reminds of the early days of the show when Frankel and Jill Zarin had a falling out. He added that it is upsetting and no fun to see friendships fall apart, even though it makes for interesting television. However, it is something that a lot of women can relate to – watching two friends drift apart while wondering why.
When it comes to a possible return from Zarin, Cohen says, “Never say never.”
