President Trump visited Puerto Rico, nearly two-weeks following the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Maria and Stephen Colbert had a full recap of his trip. Calling the president’s visit the second disaster to hit Puerto Rico, Stephen Colbert addressed what many have described as an insensitive, uncaring, and even cruel manner displayed by President Trump.
Trump’s visit followed public slamming on his and FEMA’s response to the disaster by San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, that has continually played out on CNN, a news network the president has described as the Clinton News Network and fake news.
While some defend the president saying he has been under intense scrutiny and the recipient of fake media reports discrediting his hard work and miraculous efforts to help Puerto Rico, others argue his behavior and ultimately telling Puerto Rico they have thrown the budget out of whack, is one of the most insulting and insensitive comments ever made to victims of a natural disaster.
President Trump has received criticism for tossing rolls of paper towels at people who gathered to hear him speak.
Stephen Colbert, speaking on The Lates Show With Stephen Colbert broke down President Trump’s visit segment by segment in his opening monologue that has since gone viral and is currently at the top of YouTube trends.

President Trump said more than one statement that many found controversial during his official visit to Puerto Rico. While First Lady Melania Trump accompanied him, she was seen sitting stoically next to her husband while he made the remarks many found offensive.
She wore a hat that hid her eyes and often lowered her head while remaining silent.
Many found the timing of President Trump’s visit to the U.S. territory too late, and others have argued that President Trump is not giving the same type of treatment to Puerto Rico as he has recovery and relief efforts in Texas and Florida.
Stephen Colbert looked visibly angry and exasperated as he went through his sketch.
Response to the assessment included both laughter and outrage. Reading comments on YouTube and Twitter shows that many shared the same view as Stephen Colbert and you could hear the audience make remarks such as “ooh” and “wow” while Stephen Colbert played audio clips from the President’s remarks.
