When Real Housewives of New York City star Carole Radziwill announced last month that she was leaving the show after season ten, she said it was her decision to move on and focus on her journalism career. But her friend-turned-enemy Bethenny Frankel implied on Twitter that it was Bravo’s decision to send her packing. Rumors started to swirl that it was Frankel herself who got rid of Radziwill, and it looks like the evidence of that has been under our noses the entire time.
As the New York Daily News reported before the start of season eight, Frankel became an uncredited producer for the show, and this gave her power when it came to casting.
After watching the #RHONY reunion, I may be done with Bravo. @Andy's bias towards @Bethenny is not just blatant but infuriating. Team @DorindaMedley & @CaroleRadziwill -this reunion was nauseating watching Andy ask biased questions and stand up for bethenney nonstop #RHONYreunion

“She is acting as a producer, and if she doesn’t like you, you’re off the show,” said a production insider at the time. “You saw what happened with Kristen (Taekman) and Heather (Thomson). Bye-bye, see you later. She didn’t like them.”
The source also claimed that Frankel has worked with series creator and executive producer Andy Cohen on how the show portrays the Skinnygirl mogul — and she is calling the shots. The insider said that featuring Frankel’s therapy sessions with her shrink were key in softening her image, and during season seven she contracted four sessions with her psychiatrist to “bring out the violins.”
After focus groups said that Frankel was popular but “hard and tough and unapproachable,” she wanted to fix that image. So, they filtered out scenes — with the help of focus groups throughout the filming and editing process.
This reunion is so telling. Dorinda is Caroles mouthpiece, Tinsley is pointless, Ramona is desperate, Carole is grasping at straws. But Bethenny and Sonja were class all the way. Keep it up ladies! @Bethenny @Andy @DorindaMedley @ramonasinger @SonjatMorgan @CaroleRadziwill #RHONY

Frankel is easily the highest-paid and most recognizable housewife from RHONY, making well over $1 million each season. She also made a smart deal when she signed onto the show in season one, allowing her to keep the profits from the brands she promoted on air, instead of Bravo. This led to Frankel building a $100 million Skinnygirl brand, which she eventually sold.
It would make sense that Frankel has some power when it comes to production, and if she is in cahoots with Cohen, it appears the women in the cast should stay on her good side. During the most recent reunion episode, Cohen was obviously on Frankel’s side when the cast ganged up on her, and Radziwill even told him, “You’re so full of s**t, Andy!”

It’s starting to look more and more like Bravo (and Frankel) showed Carole Radziwill the door, instead of her quitting like she claimed.
If this is the case, Ramona Singer might want to be a bit more careful. She has recently been feuding with Frankel over her new skincare line Ageless by Ramona. When Singer invited Frankel to the launch party, Frankel not only didn’t show up, but she didn’t even bother to RSVP. This infuriated Singer, who confronted Frankel about the snub. But, Frankel said she didn’t owe her an explanation.
Bethenny Frankel later explained on Twitter that Singer’s skincare line wasn’t a legit business, and as a successful businesswoman, she was tired of promoting things on the show that weren’t real and give the impression that being an entrepreneur was easy.
Part two of the Real Housewives of New York City season ten reunion airs Wednesday on Bravo.
