After being involved in a car accident last night, Will Ferrell was rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were minor but what happened exactly?
We have learned that the comedian was not the only one to get hurt however as three more people involved in the crash were hospitalized.
The Department of California Highway Patrol’s police report reveals that at the time, Ferrell was not the one driving as he was the passenger; the accident involved two cars.
‘[The 2007 Toyota] was traveling on I-5, north of La Paz road, in the #2 lane. Will Ferrell’s vehicle was traveling next to the Toyota in the HOV-lane.’
At some point, for a yet ‘unknown reason,’ the Toyota ‘veered into the HOV lane and struck the right rear of’ Ferrell’s vehicle,’ the report reads.
That is when [the 2017 Lincoln] lost control, hit the center divider and overturned. All occupants of the Lincoln Navigator (four, including the driver) were taken to nearby hospitals.’
‘One of the passengers, a 27-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with major injuries,’ one police source also told us.
In the official report, it is specified that the said woman was not wearing her seatbelt.
And in case people would misunderstand or assume in order to create more drama, ‘Alcohol and drugs were not a factor.’
As a result, ‘No citations were given, and no arrests were made.’
One video that has been circulating online shows the actor on his phone as he is loaded into the ambulance.
Ferrell was returning from a Funny or Die event at the time of the accident.
