Dr. Phil may be off the hook after video evidence captured a man not being entirely honest about how the television show host supposedly hit him in his car. A video obtained by TMZ shows Dr. Phil pulling out in front of a van and accidentally striking a skateboarder with his vehicle.
The footage shows Dr. Phill and the skateboarder shaking hands and then parting ways afterward as if nothing bad happened. As reality TV fans know, Dr. Phil was accused of hitting a man on his skateboard several months ago.
Terrence Bembury, took to Instagram after the incident and claimed he had to take two days off of work because of the supposed injuries he suffered. However, the video evidence shows that there didn’t appear to be any significant damage or injury at all.
It appears as though Bembury was caught with his pants down. Bembury told his small Instagram following at the time that he was going to press charges against Dr. Phill and sue for damages.
Terrence said after the incident in question, he began to experience pain in several areas but didn’t realize he was hurt right after the accident occurred.
A spokesperson speaking on behalf of the acclaimed reality star said he talked with Terrence after the accident and he said he was ok. Dr. Phil stated he would cooperate with the police if they wanted him to answer any questions at all.
Moreover, after TMZ released the video evidence, the man representing Bembury, John H. Mardoyan, said he would no longer be his legal counsel because it looked like he had lied about the incident.
His firm released a statement which said, “after viewing the video footage, we have decided to no longer represent Terrence Bembury.” Unfortunately, for Terrence, he won’t be getting a big paycheck from the silver-tongued doctor.
Whether his claims of injury are genuine or not, people on social media roasted him online for allegedly lying about his injuries. One person wrote, “anybody who lies about that sort of thing to get a payday is beyond pathetic.”
