That’s really disappointing, and we’re sure die-hard Spice Girls fans feel the same way! It sounds like the well-known girl group is not set to go on tour anytime in the near future! During an interview for Vogue UK, Victoria Beckham revealed that ‘I am not going on tour. The girls are not going on tour.’
Referring to their short reunion that led to Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie C., Mel B and Victoria taking a selfie together and uploading it online for the world to see, she said: ‘It was so great to see the girls. We had a fun lunch. It was really, really lovely. I still speak to them all separately, but for us, all to get together was super lovely.’
Even though Victoria now denies the possibility of a reunion tour, the five initially stated that the time really felt right to ‘explore some incredible new opportunities together.’
Victoria continued to talk about the girl group, saying that, reunion or not, she hopes they will continue to have an impact on future generations.
‘There is something so strong in what the Spice Girls stood for. What’s that in the future? What does it look like? We’re just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming. It is a positive thing.’
‘You know, there is so much bad stuff going on, and the Spice Girls were about fun as well as celebrating individuality. I think there is so much the brand can do, and it is such a positive message for young kids. What does that look like in the future? It isn’t me in a catsuit.’
‘Is that what you really, really want?’ Victoria joked by referencing one of their more well-known songs.
Are you sad the Spice Girls might not have a comeback after all, or is it all for the better?
