It has been a “devastating couple of weeks” for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump after her only sibling – her older brother Mark – died of a suspected drug overdose at his home in Gloucestershire, England late last month. It isn’t clear if the overdose was intentional or accidental, but the death of the 59-year-old devastated his family and friends.
Vanderpump confirmed her brother’s death last week.
“This has come as a shock to us all. My brother and I had connected the day before this tragedy and I was completely unprepared for this,” Vanderpump said in a statement.
Later, in an Instagram post, she thanked her fans for their love and support, and she also shared a picture of herself and Mark as a tribute, adding the caption, “Rest in peace big brother.”
The reality star is trying her best to get through her grief by staying busy with causes that are important to her. This past weekend, she stepped out for the Vanderpump Dog Foundation’s Third Annual World Dog Day in West Hollywood. Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, founded the dog rescue organization in 2016.
The 57-year-old appeared to have skipped out on walking the red carpet, but cameras captured her putting on a brave face and smiling alongside singer Leona Lewis during the outdoor event that celebrates dogs and raises awareness about dog abuse.
The British restaurateur looked elegant while keeping cool in the California sunshine. She wore a wide-brimmed straw hat and a black and blush ensemble, as her Pomeranian Giggy joined her for the event.

Vanderpump Rules stars Stassi Schroeder, Jax Taylor, and Brittany Cartwright also made appearances as a show of support for their boss.
Schroeder showed off her legs by wearing some skimpy Daisy Dukes and a black gypsy top as she carried her white and fluffy dog Luda on the red carpet. Meanwhile, Taylor flaunted his muscular physique and tattoos in a tight-fitted T-shirt, while carrying his pooch, Monroe.
Vanderpump Rules just wrapped its sixth season on Bravo. The show will return for season seven later this year.
Lisa Vanderpump also just wrapped the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills which will return in 2019.
