Vanderpump Rules star Jax Taylor has caused some drama thanks to a supposed transphobic comment on his Instagram page. The SUR bartender offended some fans when he called a female commenter “manly.”
According to Radar Online, it all started when Taylor posted a photo of Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval’s new restaurant TomTom, and then a fan criticized the decor.
“Tell @Lisavanderpump the décor looks beautiful, but it looks like there’s a little too many pink stools – maybe add some black ones to make it a little more manly,” a fan named Jenn commented on Taylor’s post.
He quickly replied, “The only thing that looks manly is you, sweetie. Stop taking male hormones, not attractive.”

Taylor’s followers took notice of the exchange and immediately started to call him out for his response. One wrote that they were surprised at Taylor, and said his reply was rude and uncalled for. The fan then explained that Jenn was commenting about the bar decor and not attacking someone’s appearance.
Another fan wrote that Taylor shouldn’t shame women or make disgusting, derogatory remarks about the transgender community, especially when his boss — who is the “only reason you are even relevant” — is an LGBTQ community advocate.
Taylor’s boss, Lisa Vanderpump, is an extremely vocal ally of the community, and she has even hired a diverse staff that includes trans model Billie Lee.
This isn’t the first time Taylor has found himself in the middle of controversy. Last year, he cheated on his girlfriend (now fiancée) Brittany Cartwright with former SUR employee Faith Stowers, and it became one of the main storylines in the most recent Vanderpump Rules season.
Recently, Stowers said that she “should have just known better” when it came to hooking up with Taylor, and it didn’t happen the way most people think. She says that she didn’t do her research, and he told her one thing, but it ended up being another.
She also revealed that she didn’t return to the show and finish the season because she knew she had made a mistake, and she didn’t want that to be who she was. She had the choice to stay or walk away, and she chose to walk and is happy because of it. However, Stowers does admit that it was difficult to watch it all unfold on television, and if she would have told her side of the story people might see her differently.
However, Stowers does say that she is happy that Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are now engaged, and the story ended the way it did.
New episodes of Vanderpump Rules will return to Bravo later this year.
