Just one month ago, Tyra Banks introduced her 18-month-old son to the world, York Banks-Asla. When on NBC’s Late Night Thursday, the 43-year-old model, and entrepreneur revealed that she had not posted any pictures of her young baby on social media for over a year.
Good for you Tyra!
Meyers responded with a candid, “Congratulations!”
When Seth was talking about the use of social media and his children, he said, eventually he just had to share pictures of his babies because they’re that special.
He claimed, “the world needs to see this little angel.”
However, Tyra and her husband found themselves in a situation where their values had to be compromised, or so they thought.
When Banks and her husband were leaving the beach together, they noticed paparazzi taking pictures of them.
The photographers managed to get some photos of the pair, so Tyra thought, ‘I’ve got to put this picture out before the paparazzi. I don’t want them to make money off of our child and have the first picture. So, I posted the damn picture.'”
Evidently, the paparazzi never actually published the pictures they took, so she ended up posting a social media image of her son when she didn’t have to.
“The next day, there ain’t no paparazzi pictures, ’cause mama knew how to hide that camera. She’s a supermodel for a reason! And so now his picture is out there, and It didn’t need it to be!”
Although she regrets posting the picture, Seth said he liked it, because “you have a beautiful baby.” The host remarked that the child knows how to “smile with his eyes” just like his mother. Apparently, she even has a term for it, it’s called a “smize.”
